2016 Bimota Tesi RC Specs
Bimota will be forever associated with alternate front-suspension models Tesi her. Although the company Small motorcycle maker based Italian Rimini being almost teetering on the financial perspective (as it has been for decades), but thanks to the dedication of the Director-General when Pierluigi Marconi and the staff is small but committed his Bimota showcased two new models in EICMA including Tesi 3D Café racer Carbon and Impeto.
And now for something completely different - cafe racer with hub-center steering. That Bimota Tesi 3D RC is, although the term cafe racer should be used rather loosely when using such technology. Unique Bimota chassis has been used in previous engines (and somewhat exclusive) use two swingarms, one in front and one behind, in the composite structure. It does not look retro, it looks like some kind of robot-facing lights on elbows and knees.
Bimota designers have pushed the limits but has this time showing that it models appropriate to the current tastes. Bimota do not have a US importer, so do not expect to see the latest version of Tesi near future. But this company has managed to rise from the brink of extinction many times and hopefully we can do it again, and may even return to the American market in the future.
Inside is a Ducati 803cc engine which we assume is the forearm version of what was in the Monster 821. The wheelbase is 1,390mm relatively short and dry weight of 162 kilograms. large twin 320 mm discs Brembo 4 piston calipers sitting in front, next to a 220 mm disc at the rear. 1078 cc engine apparently doubles Ducati L-twin spark the same one used in the Tesi 3D. Its power delivery is relatively soft will appear as a bicycle-style cafe racer over Tesi models vulgar.
Bimota has chosen a much more recent twin SOHC 803cc Ducati Scrambler. Unlike the Tesi 3D, however, they swingarms front and back are made of lightweight carbon fiber tube, which should help the sweet Ohlins suspension react faster and more responsive. They also allow you to raise and lower the ride height by 23 mm through the use of an eccentric adjuster.
It may look unusual but provides many benefits, especially the ability to customize the bike to the rider with a very specific way. The front end can be customized through a range of 9.5mm. Tesi 3D RC can be raised or lowered by 23mm if both adjustments are made in the same direction.
