Rossi Leads The Poll Position to Finish Leading MotoGP Spain 2016
Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo, failed to start at the Spanish Grand Prix pole position Sunday, April 24, after losing fast in the qualifying session of his team-mate, Valentino Rossi.
Lorenzo, who had become the fastest in the three previous practice sessions, admitted he was having problems when changing to a second tire which makes it a must cancel laps.
Only after the third tire change, the Spaniard is able to compete and improve its position to regain the lead with a time of 1 minute 38.858 seconds, but he did not have enough time to fix it in the remainder of the second qualifying time.
Lorenzo Rossi finally able to shift at the end of the second qualifying and will start in pole position, followed by Lorenzo in second place and Marc Marquez in third place.
"Second place is not bad. Obviously I wanted pole position, but it was unfortunate that I had a problem with the second tire. With a third tire I made a good lap time, 1 minute 38.8 seconds, not enough for pole position but enough to be in the first row and that's important, "said Lorenzo.
during the race, Valentino Rossi led from start to finish with exceptional race engineering at the Jerez circuit, Spain, on Sunday, April 24th.
Rossi left the defending champion Jorge Lorenzo and Honda rider Marc Marquez in the third position.

His first victory in 10 races this past makes Rossi stayed in the top three championship standings, with a difference of 24 points from Marquez at the top, and seven points ahead of teammate Lorenzo in second place.
"I had a good pace, started well, and win like this feels very exciting," said Rossi.
"I think this is a perfect weekend but we managed to be faster since Friday morning yesterday. We are working well with our bike, the race is also very good, so I have to thank the whole team, especially my crew.
Start quickly Rossi ensure no drama from beginning to end of the race and managed to finish with a margin of more than two seconds from Lorenzo in second position.
However, the Spaniard seemed less than satisfied with his tires.
"Rossi was a bit quicker than me in the beginning of the race, but in the middle, I managed to keep my distance and tried to chase him, but my tires spinning like wet tires"
"It is disappointing to me, because at the end of the race I was very strong and could possibly win by a large margin. But unfortunately, it looks like the tire is not possible. "
While the top of championship stakeholders while Marc Marquez was dibalap teammate Dani Pedrosa early in the race, but managed to return to the top three fast and last until the end of the race.
